Estelle Costanzo was born in Turin, Italy. She studied harp with Gabriella Bosio at the Conservatorio in Turin, with Chantal Mathieu at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne, with Sarah O'Brien at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel and with Frédérique Cambreling at the CNSM in Paris. During her studies she was a recepient of scholarships from the foundations Cassa di Risparmio of Turin, Nicati-de Luze and Irène Dénéréaz of Lausanne. She attended masterclasses with Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Annie Lavoisier, Brigitte Sylvestre. Her interest lies particularly in the field of new music and she is currently pursuing advanced studies of contemporary performance at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. She is a member of the Lucerne Festival Academy 2013.

Estelle won several prizes, including the 2nd prize of the prestigious competition for contemporary music “Nicati” in Switzerland in 2015 and the 2nd prize of the 35. International Competition “Valentino Bucchi - The harp in

the XX and XXI centuries” in 2012 in Rome.

Estelle is a versatile musician, performing as a soloist and as a chamber musician with different orchestras and ensembles: Ensemble Intercontemporain, Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele, Berner Symphonieorchester, Basel Sinfonietta,, Orquesta Filarmonica de Bogotá, Orchestre des jeunes de la Méditerranée, Ensemble Phoenix, Ensemble Proton.

She is a founding member of the ensembles for contemporary music « neuverBand » and « Too hot to hoot ?» and she premiered pieces by composers such as G.F. Haas, S. Gervasoni, B. Trümpy and B. Attahir.

She is also involved in several interdisciplinary art projects connecting music with other performing arts. In this field she collaborated with Theater Basel and co-founded the “ensemble viceversa”. She is member of the Lucerne Festival Young Performance Ensemble 2014/2015, that won the prestigious prize « Junge Ohren Preis 2014» for the show HEROÏCA.

Estelle is a devoted pedagogue, employed as a harp teacher in canton Zürich.
