Angus Lee is one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. Born and raised in Hong Kong, he is equally active as a flautist, composer, and conductor, with a specialist interest in contemporary music. A graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the Royal Academy of Music, he is currently flautist and conductor of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, as well as director of the PRISM Chamber
Music Festival in Hong Kong. Lee was initially self-instructed in composition. Since 2016, he has been pursuing studies with a number of composers in summer academies, and had the fortune of studying with the likes of Oscar Bianchi, Frédéric Durieux, Toshio Hosokawa, Philippe Manoury, Yann Robin, and Johannes Maria Staud, among others. His works have been presented by Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Multilatérale, Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, and Trio Accanto.
