Having obtained her leaver's certificate in harp and voice from the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique de Genève, Céline Hänni enrolled at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Lausanne in Chantal Mathieu's harp class and gained a teaching diploma. In conjunction with a variety of experiences in orchestra and teaching, she continued her training in Danielle Borst's classical singing class at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Genève. She then became very involved in vocal experimentation in different traditions and a broad range of styles. In parallel to her performances of 20th century music and creation of contemporary pieces, improvised music is also prominent. With a sense of curiosity and an interest in all the arts, she enjoys linking her sound discoveries to theatre and graphic arts.
