Along with the study of trumpet, Kathrin A. Denner studied musical theory and composition (with Theo Brandmüller) in Saarbrücken/Germany. Afterwords she graduates studies composition with Wolfgang Rihm in Karlsruhe/Germany.
As a composer, she is laureate of the culture scholarship of Saarbrücken and Karlsruhe, and the Graduate scholarship of the State of Baden-Württemberg. She has won numerous competitions, including the German Music Competition (Deutscher Musikrat) and the Orchestra Composition Competition of the Weimar Spring Festival of Contemporary
Music. In 2018 she was awarded to the «Deutscher Musikautorenpreis» (German Music Authors Price) of GEMA. Her works for soloists, chamber music, ensemble, orchestra and computer, have been performed across the entire Europa by renowned artists, ensembles and broadcasting organizations.
