Aki Nakamura was born in Japan. After obtaining a bachelor's degree and a Master's degree from Kunitachi University of Music in Tokyo, she entered the National Conservatory of Music of Lyon in composition where she worked with Loïc Mallié, Pierre Pincemaille and Gérard Geay. In 2007, she obtained the National Diploma of Higher Music Studies in Composition, with honors and unanimous congratulations from the jury.
Interested in the creation, she begins the composition in France. In 2007 she enters the class of Édith Canat de Chizy with whom she works composition for six years at the
Regional Conservatory of Paris. She also engages in electroacoustic music in 2009 with Denis Dufour and with Yan Maresz in 2011.
She is currently studying at the Geneva University of Music in Switzerland (Master of Composition) with Michael Jarrell, Luis Naón and Eric Daubresse.
She received the Académie Française's Young Artist Encouragement Award in 2011, a commission from Radio France for the Alla breve in 2013, and a commission from Ariam Ile de France in 2014.
Her pieces are premiered by the Trio Polycordes, the Ensemble Court-circuit, and the Music of the Guardians of the Peace.
