Fruit of a movement of emancipation and conquest of equal rights, the figure of the woman-composer has slowly emerged during the last century. Navigating this evolution, in all its aesthetic diversity, Archip-Elles
will reveal an unknown, underestimated but fundamental facet of contemporary art, an eloquent reflection of the changes in our society. Archipel 2019 will be entirely devoted to women. One hundred percent of female composers is not a theme, because I do not believe that there is a feminine art different from a masculine art; it is a symbolic act intended to show that it is possible, desirable, and ultimately easy because of the profusion of female talents, to offer more space to female creators.
