The cello-percussion duo UmeDuo performs internationally with a diverse repertoire and has established itself as one of the most innovative young chamber music groups from Sweden. The sisters Karolina Öhman (cello) and Erika Öhman (percussion) founded the duo in 2008 and performed extensively throughout Europe, in venues such as Queen Elisabeth Hall London, Musikinstrumentenmuseum Berlin, Tonhalle Zürich and Gothenburg Concert House. They have been invited to several renowned festivals including reMusik St Petersburg, Festspiele Zürich, Tehran Contemporary Music Festival, Klang Copenhagen, Sound of Stockholm, Periferien Oslo, Tage für Neue Musik Zürich and IGNM Basel. UmeDuo is dedicated to expanding the repertoire for cello and percussion and to collaborate with composers from all over the world. They have commissioned and premiered duos by André Chini, Leilei Tian, Ricardo Eizirik, Elena Rykova, Anahita Abbasi, Malin Bång and Teresa Carrasco among others. Transcriptions
