The piece's title, alluding to Rolf Dieter Brinkmann's poem, is the work's programme. It is a sometimes extreme game of interlocking instruments, of dissolutions and collisions. At the start of the piece, the instruments' sounds only gradually link together to form a more complex ensemble, and are broken up during the piece by hard and powerful caesuras, lulls which are unable to hold back the flow of energy.
