The piece's title, alluding to Rolf Dieter Brinkmann's poem, is the work's programme. It is a sometimes extreme game of interlocking instruments, of dissolutions and collisions. At the start of the piece, the instruments' sounds only gradually link together to form a more complex ensemble, and are broken up during the piece by hard and powerful caesuras, lulls which are unable to hold back the flow of energy. The background for these sequences is the occasionally panting noise of Heidelberg's rotary printing
