Focus No.3 is a new piece part of a larger project called Focus. This project explores self-awareness, namely the flow of information and passing thoughts that occur constantly in the mind without cessation. Musically, am inspired by Pierre Schaeffer's idea of «sound-objects» and how it entreats us to «train our ears as one trains his instrument.» The singers are given no real words; they are just sounds--buzzing thoughts--that traverse the listener's mind.
